About The Position
The Delivery Driver operates equipment, stocks ingredients from the delivery area into storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler, and prepares products. The role also receives and processes telephone orders, takes inventory, completes related paperwork, and cleans equipment and the facility approximately daily. Drivers deliver products by car to customers’ doors and distribute flyers and door hangers. The position requires accurate basic arithmetic and making correct monetary change; communication and order-processing skills; motor coordination and the ability to enter orders by keyboard or touchscreen; and the ability to follow written instructions. Drivers must be able to navigate to addresses in the designated delivery area and carry products across varied terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites.
Requirements
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, with a calculator if needed.
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touchscreen.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders by phone and in person.
- Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
- Ability to navigate varied terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying product.
