About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area and may make several deliveries per shift. Drivers also deliver flyers and door hangers. The position involves customer service and order processing, along with general store team duties such as operating equipment, stocking ingredients, preparing products, handling telephone orders, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. On-the-job orientation and training are provided.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have a valid driver's license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Must have access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Must have navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses in the designated delivery area.
• Must be able to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings and stairs, while carrying product.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions and communicate verbally with customers and co-workers.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly and make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality standards, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to perform the listed physical tasks, including standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing, climbing, bending, reaching, and driving.
• Ability to work in conditions involving varying or adverse weather, changing temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped quarters, hot surfaces and tools, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
• Ability to meet the position’s visual and sensory needs, including near, mid-range, far, and night vision, depth perception, and differentiating hot and cold surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within the designated delivery area.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.
• Navigate to addresses using maps and handle delivery locations that may include private homes and multi-story buildings.
• Operate store equipment and stock ingredients from delivery areas into storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare products and receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Unload bulk product deliveries using a hand truck and move supplies to storage.
• Communicate with customers and co-workers to process orders by telephone and in person.
