About The Position
The Delivery Driver delivers pizzas within a designated delivery area and may make several deliveries per shift. The role also supports in-store operations, including preparing products, processing orders, stocking ingredients, taking inventory, completing paperwork, and cleaning equipment and the facility. Full training is provided. The position offers variety and potential career growth within Domino’s, including opportunities to advance into management or franchise ownership. Drivers use their own vehicle for deliveries and must provide proof of insurance. The work includes customer service and communication by phone and in person, operating equipment, and following written instructions and quality standards. Work conditions may include changing or adverse weather, a range of in-store temperatures, food odors, cornmeal dust, cramped spaces, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Friendly, positive attitude and great customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license.
- Reliable vehicle for deliveries.
- Proof of car insurance.
- Safe driving record meeting company standards.
- Navigational skills to read a map, locate addresses within the designated delivery area, and navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings.
- Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly; a calculator may be used.
- Ability to make correct monetary change.
- Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
- Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
- Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
- Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet strict quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
- Ability to lift and handle deliveries weighing up to 50 pounds, and perform the described standing, walking, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, crouching, reaching, and hand tasks.
- Ability to differentiate between hot and cold surfaces.
- Near- and mid-range vision, depth perception, and ability to talk and hear on the telephone.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pizzas within a designated delivery area.
- Operate all equipment.
- Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, work areas, and the walk-in cooler.
- Prepare products.
- Receive and process telephone orders.
- Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
- Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
- Communicate with customers and co-workers to process orders by phone and in person.
- Unload and stock bulk product deliveries using a hand truck.
- Perform other outside tasks, including removing trash.
