About The Position

The Delivery Driver operates equipment, stocks ingredients, prepares products, receives and processes telephone orders, takes inventory, completes paperwork, and cleans equipment and the facility. The role delivers products by car to customers’ doors and distributes flyers and door hangers. On-the-job orientation and training are provided.

The position involves work in a food-service environment and delivery across a designated area. Team members may handle ingredient and supply deliveries, use a hand truck and dollies, and carry products and supplies. Work includes standing, walking, driving, and periodically climbing stairs or ladders, along with other physical tasks described below.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders by phone and in person.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide accurately and quickly, with a calculator if needed, and make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Motor coordination between eyes and hands/fingers to make precise movements rapidly and accurately.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Ability to navigate adverse terrain, including multi-story buildings, private homes, and other delivery sites, while carrying product.
• Ability to direct activities, perform repetitive tasks, work alone and with others, work under stress, meet quality control standards, deal with people, analyze and compile data, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to handle the physical demands described in the job posting, including lifting cases weighing up to 50 pounds, carrying products, walking, driving, and navigating stairs.

Responsibilities

• Operate all equipment.
• Stock ingredients from the delivery area to storage, the work area, and the walk-in cooler.
• Prepare product.
• Receive and process telephone orders.
• Take inventory and complete associated paperwork.
• Clean equipment and the facility approximately daily.
• Deliver products by car to customers’ doors within the designated delivery area.
• Deliver flyers and door hangers.
• Unload bulk product deliveries using a hand truck and place cases on shelves.
• Perform stocking, cleaning, and other store tasks as needed.
