10068 - Mechanical Engineer - Senior

Canvas•Hurlburt Airfield, FL

About The Position

The Senior Mechanical Engineer provides technical expertise and guidance for C-130 Special Mission Aircraft undergoing heavy depot-level maintenance and modification. The role covers hardware design, development, integration, implementation, and analysis, as well as engineering feasibility studies for design improvements and advanced technologies. It also involves developing standards and guidelines, including Tailored Airworthiness Certification Criteria (TACC) or modifications to Modified Airworthiness Certification Criteria (MACC), and developing structural and corrosion repairs. The position requires experience designing, developing, and integrating aircraft hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems; overseeing engineering project design and development; and performing airworthiness, loads, stress, and weight-and-balance analyses in support of systems integration. The work combines computer-based desk work with frequent work in an industrial setting and access throughout aircraft. Physical activities include climbing aircraft doors, ladders, stands, and flight decks; entering, exiting, working, and crawling in confined spaces; and walking on wings, cargo bays, and hangars. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Noise protection and goggles or safety glasses are required in designated work areas.

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience designing, developing, and integrating aircraft hydraulic, pneumatic, or mechanical systems.
  • At least two years of experience overseeing engineering project design and development.
