Canvas Inc.•Niceville, FL

About The Position

The Senior Mechanical Engineer provides technical expertise and guidance for C-130 Special Mission Aircraft undergoing heavy depot-level maintenance and modification. The role covers all phases of hardware design, development, integration, implementation, and analysis, as well as feasibility studies for design improvements and advanced technologies. The engineer develops standards and guidelines, including Tailored Airworthiness Certification Criteria (TACC) or modifications to Modified Airworthiness Certification Criteria (MACC), and develops structural and corrosion repairs. The position requires experience with aircraft hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, engineering project oversight, and airworthiness, loads, stress, and weight-and-balance analysis in support of systems integration. Work combines desk and computer work with frequent duties in an industrial setting and access to aircraft areas. Physical tasks include climbing aircraft doors, ladders, stands, and flight decks; entering and working in confined spaces; and walking on wings, cargo bays, and hangars. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and wearing hearing protection and goggles or safety glasses in designated areas.
