About The Position

Rocky’s Ace Hardware Delivery Drivers operate non-CDL company-owned vehicles to deliver products to retail customers within a designated territory and to other Rocky’s Ace Hardware locations. The role is part of the customer service team and requires safe, careful driving, timely deliveries, and courteous, professional interactions with customers. Drivers may deliver customer home orders, store-generated items, and RSC online orders, and provide care when handling fragile or hazardous products. The position also involves loading and unloading products, choosing efficient routes, inspecting vehicles before and after trips, reporting accidents or maintenance needs, making simple vehicle repairs, and addressing customer concerns. Drivers must follow company policies and applicable driving, DOT, and OSHA requirements. This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements

High school diploma; or eight years of related experience as a delivery or route driver operating a commercial delivery vehicle with a GVWR of 26,000 pounds or less; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and interpret documents.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts and apply basic math concepts to complete reports and conduct customer transactions.
Ability to solve practical problems, handle situations with limited standardization, and interpret written, oral, diagram, or schedule instructions.
Ability to handle stressful situations professionally.
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and common GPS software.
Current, valid driver’s license with an infraction-free history.
Ability to perform the essential duties satisfactorily, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

Operate company-owned vehicles safely and deliver products within deadlines.
Drive to designated destinations for customer home deliveries and deliveries to other Rocky’s Ace Hardware locations.
Analyze delivery addresses and determine efficient routes while staying on schedule.
Interact with customers courteously and professionally, and work with the store team to provide exceptional customer service.
Load and unload products from trucks and deliver them to other Rocky’s locations or customers’ homes.
Use the Mobile Unit App (Zebra) to determine items being delivered for store-generated items and RSC online orders.
Inspect vehicles before and after each trip, including checking fluid levels and tire pressure.
Report accidents or injuries to supervisors immediately and notify supervisors about major repairs and maintenance.
Follow local and state driving laws, road regulations, company operating policies, DOT standards, and OSHA standards.
Make simple vehicle repairs and address customer concerns about delivered products.
Take special care when delivering fragile and hazardous products.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.
