About The Position

Upper Lakes Foods is seeking a Full-Time Delivery Driver with a CDL-A to join their team in the Cloquet, MN area. This role offers a competitive salary of $90,000 per year and involves delivering food products to various foodservice operators. The position emphasizes customer service, problem-solving, and ensuring timely and safe deliveries. The company is the largest independent, wholesale food distributor in Minnesota with facilities in Cloquet, MN, Northfield, MN, and Janesville, WI, serving a range of clients including independent restaurants, assisted living facilities, schools, and chain accounts.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least one year of experience in a transportation role.
Three years of CDL driving experience.
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A.
Solid math skills to handle customer transactions accurately.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and communicating in English.
Working knowledge of GPS and routing software.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to adapt communication styles.
Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
Adherence to safety regulations.
Physically fit to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to manage up to 500 pounds with a two-wheel cart.
Good driving record.

Responsibilities

Perform essential pre-trip responsibilities, including reviewing itineraries and checking customer invoices.
Ensure all trailers meet safety standards according to DOT regulations.
Deliver customer orders on time while maintaining a robust productivity rate.
Unload products using a two-wheeler and organize them in designated storage areas.
Manage damaged goods and paperwork during post-trip duties.
Perform vital safety checks on the vehicle.
Fuel up and secure the tractor/trailer.
Build strong relationships within the team and community.
Demonstrate commitment to excellence and integrity in every delivery.
