Delivery Driver (Professional In-home) / Warehouse Associate
About The Position
Room & Board is hiring a Delivery Driver who provides professional in-home delivery service and creates exceptional customer experiences while representing the company’s products and reputation. Working with a delivery partner as part of a two-person team, the driver delivers American-made home furnishings to customers’ homes and businesses in the Chicago area. The role also supports warehouse operations, including product inspection, basic assembly, staging, and preparing products for delivery. The position balances local delivery work with indoor warehouse tasks and emphasizes safety, teamwork, and quality. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with occasional paid overtime. The position is located at 2525 W. 22nd Street, Oakbrook, Illinois 60523. The salary is $50,000–$55,000 per year ($24.04–$26.44 per hour), based on experience and qualifications, with guaranteed salary and occasional paid overtime.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license.
- Be able to drive a 24-foot box truck; training is provided.
- Be able to lift and carry heavy items with assistance from a team member and/or proper lifting equipment.
- Have proficiency in spoken and written English to communicate effectively with delivery partners, internal teams, and customers.
- Pass pre-employment requirements, including a 5-panel drug screen that excludes THC.
- Provide proof of identity and legal work authorization upon hire.
- Demonstrate customer service, effective communication, problem-solving, resourcefulness, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Deliver home furnishings to customers’ homes and businesses in the Chicago area as part of a two-person delivery team.
- Provide exceptional customer service and represent Room & Board and its products as a brand ambassador.
- Inspect, assemble, and stage products in preparation for delivery.
- Contribute to a safe workplace and prioritize safe work practices.
