Delivery Driver (Professional In-home) / Warehouse Associate
About The Position
Room & Board is hiring a Delivery Driver / Warehouse Associate to provide local delivery service and support product preparation for its Boston-area customers. Working with a delivery partner in a two-person team, you will deliver American-made home furnishings to homes and businesses, representing the company and its products through attentive customer service. The role alternates between approximately two weeks per month making deliveries and two weeks per month working in the delivery center. On delivery routes, you will alternate between driving and serving as the delivery partner. In the delivery center, you will prepare and stage products, perform basic assembly, and inspect merchandise to ensure it meets quality standards. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with occasional paid overtime. The position is located at One Enterprise Road, Suite 100, Billerica, Massachusetts.
Requirements
- Be at least 21 years of age, as required for interstate Department of Transportation work.
- Have a valid driver's license.
- Be able to drive a 24-foot box truck; training is provided.
- Be able to lift and carry heavy items with assistance from a team member and/or proper lifting equipment.
- Have proficiency in spoken and written English to communicate effectively with delivery partners, internal teams, and customers.
- Pass pre-employment requirements, including a 5-panel drug screen that excludes THC.
- Provide proof of identity and legal work authorization upon hire.
- Bring strong customer-service, communication, problem-solving, and safety-minded qualities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver furniture and accessories to customer homes and businesses as part of a two-person team.
- Alternate between driving the delivery truck and serving as the delivery partner.
- Provide exceptional customer service and represent Room & Board as a brand ambassador.
- Prepare products for delivery in the delivery center.
- Stage products and perform basic assembly.
- Inspect merchandise to ensure it meets company quality standards.
- Follow safe practices while delivering, handling, and preparing products.
