About The Position

The Delivery Driver delivers products by car to customers’ doors within a designated delivery area and may deliver flyers and door hangers. The role also performs general store team member duties, including operating equipment; stocking ingredients and supplies; preparing products; receiving and processing telephone orders; taking inventory and completing paperwork; and cleaning equipment and the facility approximately daily.

The position requires customer and co-worker communication, order entry, basic arithmetic and handling monetary change, map reading and address navigation, and the ability to work independently or with others under stress while meeting quality standards. The work involves standing, walking, occasional sitting, lifting and carrying products, pushing or pulling trays, and navigating stairs or other delivery terrain. Drivers may make several deliveries per shift and encounter adverse weather and changing temperatures.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record meeting company standards.
• Access to an insured vehicle that can be used for delivery.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic accurately and quickly and make correct monetary change.
• Verbal, writing, and telephone skills to take and process orders.
• Ability to enter orders using a computer keyboard or touch screen.
• Navigational skills to read a map and locate addresses within the designated delivery area.
• Ability to comprehend and give correct written instructions.
• Ability to communicate verbally with customers and co-workers to process orders in person and by phone.
• Ability to work alone and with others, perform repetitive tasks, work under stress, meet quality standards, and make judgments and decisions.
• Ability to lift and handle cases weighing up to 50 pounds and carry products during deliveries.
• Ability to walk and climb stairs, including navigating five or more flights during deliveries when required.
• Ability to perform frequent hand and arm tasks requiring coordination, grasping, and forceful use of forearms and wrists.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures and sometimes adverse weather conditions, and around food odors, cornmeal dust, hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving mechanical parts.
• Far and night vision for driving, near and mid-range vision for in-store tasks, depth perception, and ability to distinguish hot and cold surfaces.

Responsibilities

• Unload bulk product deliveries using a hand truck and move supplies to storage or shelves.
• Navigate delivery locations, including private homes, multi-story buildings, stairs, and other terrain.
