Delivery Driver / Warehouse Associate
About The Position
NEFCO is a construction supply company that connects contractors with the construction products they need. The Delivery Driver / Warehouse Associate provides timely, courteous service while making local deliveries to commercial construction sites and customers’ home offices or shops. The role uses company vehicles and includes loading and unloading inventory, maintaining accurate records, and communicating with customers and branch teams. The ideal candidate has experience driving non-CDL commercial vehicles at least 24 feet and 26 feet in length. The schedule is Monday through Friday, starting at 5 a.m., with the driver home every night and weekend.
Requirements
- Must be at least 23 years of age.
- Must have experience driving 24-foot and 26-foot commercial vehicles.
- Must have 2–5 years of commercial vehicle driving experience.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Must possess a current, valid Medical Card.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision.
- Excellent knowledge of the local delivery area.
- Ability to sit in a vehicle for long periods.
- Ability to work for long periods in varying climate conditions, including cold, heat, and humidity.
- Ability to crouch, stoop, kneel, crawl, and twist while lifting.
Nice To Haves
- CDL is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-trip inspections of the vehicle, equipment, paperwork, and loaded product.
- Deliver products to customer job sites and home offices using a company vehicle.
- Load inventory onto the truck and unload it at customer locations while maintaining inventory accuracy.
- Maintain a neat, safe, and organized work environment.
- Ensure manifests are complete and accurate.
- Provide timely, accurate, and courteous customer service.
- Use company technology to check in with customers at designated accounts, announce arrival, and serve as a company liaison.
- Prepare and maintain records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Communicate from the field with the dispatcher, customer service, and/or branch logistics.
