About The Position

The Deli role serves AC&T customers promptly and courteously while preparing food and enhancing the image of AC&T. The position is located at the Waynesboro Exxon in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania, is non-exempt, and is in the Kitchen department. It reports to the Kitchen Manager. The employee provides service at the deli counter and prepares food for resale and special orders. They maintain clean, ready-to-use work areas and follow company and regulatory food-safety and sanitation procedures. The role also involves cooperating with others to support customer satisfaction and performing other assigned or required duties.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Deli counter or food-preparation experience may be required.
Ability to lift items weighing 25 to 50 pounds.
Ability to operate equipment such as meat and cheese slicers, scales, and cash registers.
Excellent customer-service and communication skills.
Ability to understand and follow company procedures and regulations regarding food handling and sanitation.
Courteous and efficient approach to handling customer requests, questions, and complaints.

Nice To Haves

One year of deli or kitchen experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide responsive, exceptional service to deli counter customers by answering questions, making recommendations, offering samples, and responding to requests.
Recommend, slice, weigh, package, and price meats and cheeses.
Prepare sandwiches, subs, salads, and other cold items for resale.
Prepare special orders and party trays.
Prepare work areas for customer service by cleaning surfaces, equipment, and floors, removing trash, and confirming tools are in working order.
Follow food-safety and sanitation procedures established by the company and regulatory agencies.
Cooperate with others to ensure customer satisfaction.
Perform other tasks and duties as assigned or required.
