About The Position

The Deli Lead helps ensure the deli area is well maintained and operating efficiently. This person is friendly, works collaboratively with the team, and serves as a first point of contact for customers by providing information about groceries. The role includes overseeing inventory, ordering, merchandise quality and freshness, product rotation and displays, and team scheduling. The listed duties are representative rather than exhaustive, and other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally up to 75 pounds.
• Continuous walking and standing throughout the shift.

Nice To Haves

• Grocery retail background preferred.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Prior leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Track and manage inventory accurately and in a timely manner.
• Place orders based on accurate forecasts of department needs.
• Receive merchandise and verify product quality and freshness.
• Inspect floor displays to ensure products are properly rotated and merchandised.
• Review Team Members’ weekly schedules to ensure the department is fully staffed.
• Stock, rotate, and organize items on shelves.
• Provide customers with information about groceries.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
