About The Position

The Deli Dept role supports Raymer Oil’s commitment to putting customers first by providing friendly, quick, accurate, and courteous service and supplying products that meet high standards for quality and freshness. The position prepares and serves deli products, maintains product levels and freshness, and keeps work areas and supplies clean and orderly. It also involves communicating customer requests and temperature issues to management, supporting front-end service, sharing specials with customers, and assisting with receiving and storing products.

The role requires working safely in varied conditions and temperatures, including wet and dry environments. The position description may be revised and is not an exhaustive list of duties or qualifications.

Requirements

• Friendly, outgoing personality.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Ability to lift 25 pounds consistently and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to read and understand information and directions.
• Effective communication, customer service, and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to push or pull a loaded grocery cart throughout an assigned shift without assistance.
• Ability to climb and balance on a step stool or ladder.
• Ability to sustain repetitive arm and hand motion.
• Ability to reach above the shoulders and horizontally to stock and retrieve inventory.
• Ability to work under a variety of conditions and temperatures, wet and dry, for extended periods.
• Ability to work safely with box cutters and grocery equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare products for sale by frying, cutting, slicing, pricing, and serving.
• Maintain product levels, quality, and freshness.
• Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area, and sales area.
• Communicate customer requests to management.
• Report temperature breakdowns to a supervisor and complete the temperature chart.
• Keep supplies neat, clean, and tidy.
• Perform other duties assigned by management.
• Perform front-end duties to help maintain the “no noticeable wait” standard.
• Announce specials and sale information to customers while serving them.
• Assist with product receiving and storage.
