About The Position
This role is responsible for independently preparing food and deli and/or bakery products, including frying, packaging, displaying, and stocking products, while supporting the store’s financial interests. The associate is expected to meet company guidelines for guest experience, safety, and food safety. The position is based at 305 Morenci in Mio, Michigan.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- One year of retail or related experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
- Basic mathematical skills, including adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
- Detail-oriented.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and produce bakery and deli products according to the production planner.
- Package and label bakery and deli products according to the program plan.
- Merchandise bakery and deli products according to the flight plan and merchandising expectations.
- Stock the backroom with bakery and deli products, rotating and dating cases and buckets.
- Work with other departments and stores to support growth in SpartanNash retail stores.
- Notify the Bakery/Deli Manager when products or supplies need to be ordered.
- Communicate completed tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps to other associates.
- Follow personal protective equipment and safety guidelines.
- Follow food safety and cleaning expectations.
- Follow guest experience guidelines.
- Perform tasks in other departments as needed to meet customer experience needs.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
