The Deland Fellowship in Health Care and Society at Brigham and Women's Hospital prepares professionals to be leaders in healthcare institutions. This one-year fellowship focuses on developing fundamental skills for leading academic and community-based medical centers. The program is based at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a major teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, and Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, and is enhanced by membership in the Mass General Brigham System. Fellows engage in project-based learning under senior management, bridging medicine and administrative management. Fellows pursuing administrative roles gain understanding of clinical aspects, while clinician fellows explore management, operations, and finance. Opportunities include participating in senior leadership meetings, special projects, gaining experience in management, finance, operations, marketing, and community relations, exposure to clinical work, and experience within an integrated health care system.
