The Deland Fellowship in Health Care and Society at Brigham and Women's Hospital prepares professionals to be leaders in healthcare institutions. This one-year fellowship focuses on developing skills fundamental to leading an academic and community-based medical center. Based at Brigham and Women's Hospital, a major teaching hospital of Harvard Medical School, and Brigham and Women's Faulkner Hospital, the fellowship is enhanced by its membership in the Mass General Brigham System. The program emphasizes project-based learning guided by senior management, bridging medicine and administrative management. Fellows gain understanding of clinical aspects of healthcare, while clinician fellows explore management, operations, and finance. Opportunities include participating in senior leadership meetings, special projects, gaining experience in management, finance, operations, marketing, and community relations, exposure to clinical work, and experience within an integrated health care system.
