About The Position

As a defense mission operations and exercise analyst, you’ll bring your understanding of Joint and Naval doctrine, the Joint and Marine Corps planning process (MCPP), and the Joint Exercise Life Cycle (JELC) background to work on projects enhancing Joint and Marine Air Ground Task Force readiness. You’ll develop exercise plans of action and milestones, support briefs, assessment plans, exercise observation reports and recommendations, after action reviews, and training and education program analysis reports. You’ll help identify, analyze, and evaluate complex systems, policies, processes, and coordinate and manage exercise life cycle related events and provide exercise support with a focus on improving force readiness. You’ll impact the work we do for Naval Force integration and the solutions we deliver for Joint Task force and defense mission planning. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with the Marine Corps Planning Process or Military Decision-Making Process
  • 3+ years of experience with Joint Task Forces (JTF), the Marine Air Ground Task Force (MAGTF), Fleet, or major subordinate command level
  • 3+ years of experience with Joint, Naval, or Expeditionary Operations exercise planning, including Marine Expeditionary Units (MEU)s or Purpose-Built Task Forces (PBTFs)
  • Experience with exercise control activities, including exercise design and implementation of exercise storylines, vignettes, and Master Scenario Events Lists
  • Experience with drafting briefs, orders, papers, and letters commensurate with a senior level military command
  • Knowledge of Marine Corps Service-level concepts, doctrine, and campaign plan design
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the Joint Operational Planning Process (JOPP)
  • Experience with Indo-Pacific Command Area of Responsibility and Central Command Area of Responsibility
  • Experience with drafting and sending information messages Via the automated message handling system (AMHS)
  • Experience with the Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS)
  • Graduate of Marine Corps Command and Staff College
