About The Position

As a Defense Mission Analyst, you'll bring your analytical background to work on projects for U.S. grand-strategy. You'll research and develop classified information flows to give decision advantage to senior military leadership. You'll help identify, analyze, and evaluate complex systems, policies, and processes instrumental to ensuring mission success in protecting the United States. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a professional work environment
  • Experience with Congressional or legislative affairs and the Congressional Authorization and Appropriations process, the DoD legislative process, including program objective memorandum (POM) preparation, Budget Estimate Submissions (BES), President’s Budget (PB) Exhibit preparation, and working around senior Congressional staff and DoD or Navy officials
  • Experience with Navy staff, Joint Staff, or Combatant Command (COCOM) staff
  • Experience with requirements analysis and identification in Navy and Marine Corps programs
  • Experience with regular direct client interactions, including supporting project delivery, delivering presentations, leading client meetings, and working independently, creatively, and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools
  • Ability to track and comprehend acquisition and procurement goals as they move through the legislative cycle
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working as a Congressional or DoD staffer
  • Experience with the Program Budget Information System (PBIS)
  • Experience with Navy ERP
  • Experience with reviewing and drafting appeals to Congressional Defense Committee's as part of annual Authorization and Appropriations process
  • Ability to plan, organize, and execute tasks with minimal direction
