About The Position

Provide Navy client with legislative and Congressional support throughout the annual Defense Authorization and Appropriations process. Provide analysis to support the development and implementation of Navy and Marine Corps strategy and policy. Analyze risk-based strategies for legislative processes and planning. Analyze and track metrics for strategy implementation. Provide analysis to identify, define, and close requirements using the legislative process.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with working in a professional environment
  • Experience with Congressional or legislative affairs and the Congressional Authorization and Appropriations process, the DoD legislative process, and working around senior Congressional staff and DoD or Navy officials
  • Experience with regular direct client interactions, including supporting project delivery, delivering presentations, and leading client meetings
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience working with Auditing Agencies such as GAO
  • Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools
  • Ability to work independently, creatively, and analytically in a problem-solving environment
  • Ability to track and comprehend acquisition and procurement goals as they move through the legislative cycle and plan, organize, and execute tasks with minimal direction
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor's degree

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with working as a Congressional or DoD Staffer
  • Experience with reviewing and drafting Reclamas to Congressional Defense Committees as part of annual Authorization and Appropriations process
  • Experience with requirements analysis and identification in Navy and Marine Corps programs
  • Experience with Navy staff or Defense, Joint Staff, or Combatant Command (COCOM) staff
