About The Position

The Dedicated Transportation Manager builds and maintains driver relationships by understanding and meeting driver needs, including home time, payroll, utility, equipment breakdowns, logging violations, and other equipment issues. The role uses company and customer operating systems, driver telematics, face-to-face communication, and phone or text communication to address those needs. The manager partners with Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads based on factors such as origin, destination, freight type, mileage, stops, directions, driver needs, and availability. The position also works to meet customer service expectations, goals, and initiatives that improve value for the customer and Werner; coordinates with internal departments and external vendors; and works with the Dedicated Logistics Manager and/or Operations Manager to fill and maintain a full board of drivers. Other related duties may be assigned by the Dedicated Logistics Manager. Timely and regular attendance during the scheduled shift is required.

Nice To Haves

A bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or Transportation/Logistics.
Two to three years of fleet management or transportation experience in the truckload industry.
Six months to one year of supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

Build and maintain driver relationships by understanding and meeting driver needs, including home time, payroll, utility, equipment breakdowns, logging violations, and equipment issues.
Use operating systems, customer operating systems, driver telematics communications, face-to-face communication, and phone or text communication to address driver needs.
Partner with Dedicated and Associate Logistics Managers to optimize driver loads according to freight and route factors, driver needs, and availability.
Understand and adhere to customer service expectations, goals, and initiatives intended to improve value for the customer and Werner.
Interface with billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, fuel, maintenance, and external vendors.
Work with the Dedicated Logistics Manager and/or Operations Manager to fill and maintain a full board of drivers.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Dedicated Logistics Manager.
Maintain timely and regular attendance according to the scheduled shift determined by supervisory personnel.
