About The Position

XPO is hiring existing teams of two drivers to operate sleeper tractors on extended runs between XPO facilities. Drivers work a typical five-day work week away from home, with a schedule of five days on and two days off. The role involves long-distance operation of various tractor-trailer combinations, transporting freight safely and complying with DOT and transportation regulations. Drivers coordinate with fellow drivers, dispatchers, and XPO employees, and use internal freight transportation tools and required systems. Pay includes mileage compensation of $0.974 per mile for load-related tasks, split between the two drivers ($0.487 per driver per mile). En-route waiting time exceeding one hour due to traffic, construction, or weather delays is paid at $35.42 per hour. XPO offers weekly pay, health insurance from day one, holiday pay for six holidays, PTO, and a 401(k) with company match. Drivers also receive reimbursement for on-the-road showers. The freight is no-touch and in-house, and XPO has network shops and fueling stations intended to reduce delays. The sleeper cabs are in 2023 Freightliner and Kenworth automatic trucks, equipped with microwaves and refrigerators; tractors include a tool and repair kit. The role requires lifting objects frequently up to 50 pounds and occasionally over 75 pounds; climbing in and out of the tractor cab and trailer; sitting for extended periods; and reaching, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, twisting, squatting, and kneeling. Drivers may operate a tractor-trailer combination for up to 11 consecutive hours in all types of weather and must safely transport all freight types. Applicants must be able to read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the public, understand highway signs and signals, respond to official inquiries, and complete reports and records. Conditional offers may require passing a pre-employment drug test.
