Debt Portfolio Management & Investments Intern
About The Position
Berkshire Residential Investments is hiring a Debt Portfolio Management & Investments Intern for its 12-week Summer Internship Program. The intern will gain hands-on experience in real estate investment, work on practical projects and real-life situations, learn from industry professionals, build a professional network, and contribute to impactful projects. The program includes mentorship, panel discussions with functional leaders, opportunities to meet senior leaders, property tours, a volunteering event, and a final project presentation to Berkshire’s Senior Leadership Team. The internship is in person from June to mid-August, approximately 12 weeks, with a schedule of 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Requirements
- Be a current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related field, with an anticipated graduation date in 2028.
- Have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or similar programs.
- Be available to work in person from June to mid-August, approximately 12 weeks, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Be able to present findings to senior leadership.
- Be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Be detail-oriented and organized.
- Have effective written and oral communication skills.
- Have excellent customer service and collaboration skills.
- Have objective thinking skills.
- Have an aptitude for learning and be comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
- Be able to communicate and work with different departments throughout Berkshire.
Responsibilities
- Support the Debt Investment team on live investments during the summer internship.
- Support the Portfolio Management team with liquidity management and data aggregation.
- Assist with ad hoc assignments from senior leadership and/or investors.
- Assist with tasks related to debt investments and portfolio management.
- Prepare and deliver a presentation to Berkshire’s Senior Leadership Team summarizing a project or key task, internship insights, and recommended process enhancements.
