Portfolio and Asset Management Intern
About The Position
Berkshire Residential Investments is a people-first real estate investment company focused on high-performing teams, individual skills and perspectives, and serving employees, investors, residents, and other stakeholders. Its 12-week Summer Internship Program offers practical experience in real estate investment through hands-on projects and real-life situations, industry learning, professional networking, and opportunities to contribute to impactful projects. The Portfolio and Asset Management Intern will assist with quarterly asset and portfolio management reviews, modeling and reporting, and research on selected markets and property sub-sectors. The intern will present findings and recommendations to team members and senior leadership. The program includes mentorship, panel discussions with functional leaders, opportunities to meet senior leaders, property tours, a volunteering event, and an end-of-summer presentation to Berkshire’s Senior Leadership Team summarizing a project or key task, internship insights, and recommended process enhancements. The internship is in person from June to mid-August, approximately 12 weeks, with a schedule of 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Requirements
- Be a current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related field, with an anticipated graduation date in 2028.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or similar programs.
- Available to work in person from June to mid-August, approximately 12 weeks, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
- Ability to present findings to senior leadership.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Enjoys working collaboratively and partnering with team members at all levels.
- Objective thinking skills.
- Aptitude for learning and comfort working in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to communicate and work with different departments throughout Berkshire.
Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of quarterly asset reviews and portfolio management reviews.
- Assist with asset and portfolio modeling and quarterly reporting.
- Research selected markets and property sub-sectors.
- Present findings and recommendations to team members and senior leadership.
- Prepare and deliver an end-of-summer presentation to Berkshire’s Senior Leadership Team summarizing a project or key task, insights gained during the internship, and recommended process enhancements.
