About The Position

The Dealer provides an entertaining and fun atmosphere for guests while dealing table games according to the rules of each game. Games include Blackjack (single deck, double deck, and six deck), Spanish 21, Pai Gow variants, 6 Card Fortune Pai Gow, 3 Card Poker, 4 Card Poker, Ultimate Texas Hold’em, DJ Wild, and 3 Card Blitz. Other games may be required in the future, and game types, side bets, and rules may change. Poker-certified dealers deal Poker as assigned. Dealers certified by management may be scheduled in the Poker Room to deal Texas Hold’em, Omaha, and Poker tournaments. They conduct games under company policies and procedures, handle player transactions, maintain game speed and accuracy, collect the proper rake, and help guests with seating and chip purchases.

Requirements

Formal training and/or prior experience in Blackjack is required for employment.
Poker Room dealing requires certification by management.

Responsibilities

Provide outstanding guest service by creating a friendly environment and following Jackson Rancheria Guest Service Guidelines.
Deal Blackjack and other core games according to gaming policies and procedures.
Protect the game and company assets by handling cards carefully, keeping the tray and cards secure, and maintaining positive guest relations.
Exchange paper currency for chips, pay winnings, and collect losing bets according to the rules and procedures of each game.
Check that all players have placed bets before play begins.
Stand behind the gaming table and deal the appropriate number of cards to each player.
Inspect cards and equipment to ensure they are in good condition.
Answer questions about game rules and casino policies.
Arrive at the designated workstation and relieve other dealers on time.
Greet guests promptly and sincerely, encourage play through eye contact on inactive games, and project positive body language at live and inactive tables.
Learn additional games offered to guests by JRCR.
When certified and assigned to the Poker Room, deal Texas Hold’em, Omaha, and Poker tournaments.
Conduct Poker Room games according to company policies and procedures, handle player transactions, and notify the Poker Lead of irregularities.
Maintain game speed and accuracy, keep the game moving, and monitor payment and collection of bets and rake.
Maintain the table and keep the tray and cards secure.
Accept bets and make or retrieve payouts based on winning card distributions.
Greet new customers and assist with seating and transfers.
Expedite new customer chip purchases and assist with table fills.
Collect the proper rake and ensure players follow betting procedures.
Count and verify the impressed bank.
