Campfire•San Francisco, CA
•$150,000 - $200,000

About The Position

Campfire is hiring a Deal Strategist to own the commercial economics of its deals, including pricing strategy, deal structuring, partner economics, and systems that make deal processes repeatable. The role combines deal underwriting with building tools and automations to make future deals faster. The Deal Strategist works directly with sales leadership, legal, finance, and business operations and has authority over deal approvals and recommendations. The role includes structuring and approving non-standard deals; developing packaging, price books, and value-based pricing; setting unit economics and business cases for new products and AI features; establishing discount and approval policies; modeling channel and platform partnerships; and evaluating deal margins, payback, LTV, ARR, bookings, and quota credit. The Deal Strategist also builds systems for quoting, approvals, and deal analytics across the CRM and internal tools, and partners with sales on contract terms and live negotiations.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of experience in investment banking, management consulting, private equity, strategic finance, or a related finance function.
  • Think in terms of returns, downside cases, and term sheets.
  • Use AI tools such as Claude Code to build models, automate analysis, and increase productivity.
  • Have built and shipped something real, such as a model, pipeline, or tool that people used.
  • Strong analytical judgment and ability to identify flaws in deal structures.
  • Clear communication skills, including explaining complex deals or pricing changes to leadership or a board and enabling decisions.
  • High ownership and accountability for revenue and deal outcomes.
  • Ability to make timely, decisive calls and own the outcomes.
  • Precision and attention to detail, especially in pricing calculations.
  • Comfort working with ambiguity and creating processes where no playbook exists.

  • Own unit economics for products and develop business cases and pricing for new products and AI features before launch.
  • Create and maintain discount and approval policies, escalation rules, and playbooks for account executives.
  • Model channel and platform partnership economics and ensure Campfire captures an appropriate share of the value created.

  • Build systems and automations for quoting, approvals, and deal analytics across the CRM and internal tools.
  • Partner with sales on contract terms and live negotiations.
  • Work with sales leadership, legal, finance, business operations, and company leadership on commercial decisions.
