About The Position

Auger is hiring a Deal Strategist to help build customer partnerships with Fortune 500 companies, top private enterprises, and holding companies by identifying operational gaps in their supply chains, quantifying their costs, and making the case for Auger's solutions. The role combines strategy consulting and dealmaking, with a focus on helping Auger grow by delivering measurable customer value. The Deal Strategist reports to the Head of Sales, partners with Account Executives, and works closely with the founders on major deals. The role involves researching customer businesses and industries, developing executive-facing materials and economic cases, preparing founders for important meetings, and coordinating conversations that help customers reach confident decisions. It offers exposure to company building, enterprise dealmaking, executive decision meetings, and the use of AI tools in supply chains.

Requirements

  • A quantitative background in math, finance, economics, engineering, or a similar field.
  • Ability to build a model or well-supported argument from incomplete data.
  • Ability to create persuasive presentations that help executives make decisions.
  • 1–2 years of experience as a PE/VC analyst or associate, in banking or consulting, or in another role involving company diligence and recommendations.
  • Focus on whether customers achieve promised value after a contract is signed.
  • Interest in learning how sales, product, operations, and strategy work together.
  • Daily use of AI tools and informed opinions about their direction.
  • Willingness to engage directly with customers rather than work only behind a model.
  • Ability to develop a clear point of view from information and persuade through presentations.
  • Patience with enterprise sales cycles that can take months.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with enterprise software, supply chain, or operations.

Responsibilities

  • Research Fortune 500 companies, top private enterprises, and holding companies, including their business models, supply chain footprints, systems, earnings calls, investor materials, organizational structures, and strategic priorities.
  • Identify where customers' operations fall short of their strategies and quantify the cost of those gaps.
  • Stay informed about customers' competitors, business pressures, and industry news.
  • Develop a deep understanding of Auger's product offerings and how its solutions create customer value.
  • Create and own presentations, account briefs, and executive materials for founders and Account Executives.
  • Tailor the value story to the priorities of different executives, including CFOs, COOs, and VPs of IT.
  • Brief founders before major customer meetings on the stakes, attendees, and Auger's strengths, then debrief afterward to refine the approach.
  • Build rigorous, transparent economic cases that quantify customer challenges and the value of addressing them with Auger's solutions.
  • Combine research, discovery notes, and customer data into a clear explanation of customer problems, their costs, and the value of fixing them.
  • Provide executives with an honest, data-backed basis for decisions and stand behind the analysis after deals are signed.
  • Map customer decision makers, including budget owners, technology owners, champions, and detractors.
  • Coordinate with Account Executives to sequence conversations so executive meetings focus on decisions rather than introductions.
