About The Position

Auger is hiring a Deal Strategist to support major enterprise sales opportunities and build customer partnerships that deliver measurable value. Working with the Head of Sales, Account Executives, and founders, this role investigates Fortune 500 and other large enterprise customers, identifies gaps between operational performance and strategic goals, and quantifies the business impact. It combines strategic analysis, executive storytelling, and deal support, with a focus on building durable customer value rather than simply closing contracts. The Deal Strategist researches customer businesses, supply chain footprints, systems, financial and strategic materials, organizational structures, competitors, and industry pressures. The role develops economic cases for Auger’s solutions, creates tailored executive presentations and account materials, prepares founders for major customer meetings, and helps map decision-makers and sequence conversations toward clear buying decisions. The position offers exposure to company building, enterprise dealmaking, and executive decision-making, as well as hands-on use of AI tools. Auger’s team works from Bellevue, Washington, and Dallas, Texas; the job description does not specify a work arrangement for this role.

Requirements

  • Quantitative background in a field such as mathematics, finance, economics, or engineering, or a similar discipline.
  • Ability to build a model or develop a well-supported argument from incomplete data.
  • Strong executive storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to help decision-makers reach conclusions rather than merely summarize information.
  • 1–2 years of experience as a PE/VC analyst or associate, in banking or consulting, or in another role involving company diligence and written recommendations.
  • Focus on customer outcomes and whether promised value is realized after a contract is signed.
  • Interest in learning how sales, product, operations, and strategy work together.
  • Comfort engaging with customers and working in customer-facing settings.
  • Interest in AI and regular use of AI tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in enterprise software, supply chain, or operations.
  • Experience with private equity or venture capital diligence, investment banking, or consulting, beyond the stated relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Diligence Fortune 500 companies, leading private enterprises, and holding companies by researching their business models, supply chain footprints, systems, earnings calls, investor materials, organizational charts, and strategic priorities.
  • Identify gaps between a customer's operational performance and strategic goals, and quantify the cost of those gaps.
  • Track customer competitors, industry pressures, and relevant news to inform customer conversations.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Auger's product offering and how its solutions create customer value.
  • Create and own presentations, account briefs, and executive materials for founders and Account Executives.
  • Tailor customer stories and materials to the concerns of executives such as CFOs, COOs, and VPs of IT.
  • Brief founders before major meetings and debrief afterward to assess what worked and improve future engagement.
  • Build rigorous, transparent, data-backed economic cases that quantify customer challenges and the value of addressing them with Auger.
  • Combine research, discovery notes, and customer data into a clear account of what is broken, its costs, and the value of fixing it.
  • Stand behind the value assumptions and numbers after a deal is signed.
  • Map customer decision-makers, budget owners, technology owners, champions, and potential detractors.
  • Coordinate with Account Executives to sequence conversations so executive meetings focus on decisions rather than introductions.

Benefits

  • Front-row exposure to company building, founder decision-making, and enterprise deal structuring.
  • Opportunity to contribute to real customer work and measurable value delivery rather than shadow work.
  • Executive-facing work, with presentations used in Fortune 500 decision meetings.
  • Use of AI tools in day-to-day work and exposure to AI's role in global supply chains.
