About The Position
CLA is seeking a Deal Services Intern for its Salt Lake City, Utah office. The internship is anticipated to run from January 2027 through April 2027. The intern will participate in quality of earnings due diligence engagements for acquisitions by private equity investors and strategic corporate buyers, analyzing financial and operational results and supporting clients with transaction-related analysis.
Requirements
- Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an Accounting or Finance degree is strongly preferred.
- Achieving credit requirements to be eligible to sit for the CFA or CPA exam, per state requirements.
- General knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Willingness to learn new technologies.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office products.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.
Responsibilities
- Participate in quality of earnings due diligence engagements related to acquisitions by private equity investor groups and strategic corporate buyers.
- Analyze targets’ financial and operational results by reviewing accounting records and conducting interviews with management.
- Prepare and evaluate pro forma financial information.
- Evaluate the effects of seasonality and cyclicality on cash flow requirements.
- Perform industry and company research.
- Correlate due diligence findings with client valuations.
