Deal Desk Manager

Hex
•$164,000 - $205,000

About The Position

Hex is seeking a Deal Desk Manager to design and scale its quote-to-cash process as the company grows. The role owns how signed deals become cash, including reimagining the quote-to-cash process, selecting and implementing supporting systems, and chairing the monetization committee responsible for pricing and packaging decisions. The Deal Desk Manager will work closely with Sales, Finance, Legal, Product, and Engineering, with a direct impact on margin, sales velocity, and new-representative ramp time.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in deal desk, sales finance, or revenue operations at a B2B SaaS company, including end-to-end ownership of a quote-to-cash process.
  • Experience leading a CPQ and/or billing system implementation or migration.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS contracts, revenue recognition, and the margin implications of pricing and billing structures.
  • Familiarity with usage-based and hybrid pricing models.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce and a CPQ and billing stack.
  • A track record of aligning Sales, Finance, Legal, and Product on difficult decisions.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain trade-offs to executives and account executives.
  • Bias to action, high ownership, and comfort with ambiguity.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement a new order-to-cash system, own its business case, and move billing off Stripe to improve gross margin.
  • Chair the monetization committee by providing data on pricing, packaging, and discounting, and drive decisions that respond to market needs.
  • Run day-to-day deal desk operations, reviewing and approving non-standard deals and structuring ramps, commits, and usage terms while maintaining fast turnaround, margin, and compliance.
  • Streamline CPQ to shorten sales cycles, reduce quoting friction, and reduce ramp time for new account executives.
  • Partner with Finance to shorten the book-closing process, including improving handoffs for invoicing, revenue recognition, and collections.
  • Improve provisioning processes to support ten times as many customers and transactions.
  • Build approval matrices, deal guardrails, and playbooks that enable reps to close standard deals without deal desk involvement.
  • Report on process health, including cycle time, discount and margin leakage, quote-to-cash errors, and days to close.

Benefits

  • Market-benchmarked salary and equity.
  • Comprehensive health benefits.
  • Flexible paid time off.
