About The Position

Covetrus is seeking a Distribution Center Team Member responsible for receiving and storing products in a distribution center. The role includes unloading deliveries, checking and recording received products, addressing discrepancies, and putting products away in the appropriate stock areas to support customer order fulfillment. The position is in a climate-controlled, small-team environment and may involve work in a cooler area between 35° and 46° F. Weekend work is rarely required, but mandatory overtime may be needed to ensure timely customer delivery.

Requirements

• No work experience is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to read and understand English to read product descriptions, labels, shelves, and other product documents.
• Ability to understand basic math to ensure accurate product quantities.
• Ability to operate, or willingness to learn to operate, material-handling equipment such as order pickers, reach trucks, and forklifts.
• Must be flexible to work mandatory overtime as needed to ensure timely customer delivery.
• Ability to lift and transport 30 pounds regularly and 50–70 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to stand and/or walk on concrete for the duration of the shift and perform tasks involving bending, stooping, and reaching.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of work experience in a warehouse or production environment.

Responsibilities

• Unload freight trucks delivering merchandise; count pieces, packages, or pallets; and sign Bills of Lading according to company policy.
• Compare received items with vendor packing slips, customer return notes, or transfer documents, and verify item details such as size, color, and quantity.
• Enter received items accurately into the computer system according to the applicable purchase order, return note, or transfer document.
• File completed documents and communicate discrepancies to appropriate parties, which may include Accounts Payable, Procurement, vendors, and other distribution centers.
• Put away received products accurately and promptly in appropriate stock areas to support customer order fulfillment.
• Check product dates to ensure proper stock rotation.
