About The Position

The Custodian/Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleanliness of the facility to ensure a positive member experience. The role involves cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor; replenishing locker-room supplies; handling trash; cleaning elevated surfaces; reporting broken or missing amenities and equipment; and following the Lost and Found Policy. The position is based at the Midwood location in Brooklyn, New York, and is listed as full-time or part-time, with an hourly pay range of $17.70 to $17.70.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Punctuality and reliability.
Honesty and exceptional work ethic.
Ability to solve problems independently.
Demonstrate diplomacy in all interactions and use appropriate behavior and language.
Continual standing and walking during the shift.
Must be able to occasionally lift over 80 pounds.
Will encounter toxic chemicals.
Frequently clean and sanitize equipment and facilities.
Move into different positions, including bending, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and twisting, to accomplish tasks.

Nice To Haves

Custodial experience is preferred.
High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker room areas, fitness equipment, and the gym floor.
Stock locker rooms with proper supplies and paper products.
Properly dispose of trash and maintain trash cans.
Clean and dust items high off the ground, such as ceiling fans, TVs, and rafters.
Report broken or missing amenities or equipment to the Club Manager.
Follow the Lost and Found Policy and immediately turn in lost member property to the Club Manager or Assistant Club Manager.
