About The Position

The Daycare Teacher plans and performs teaching duties and daily activities for children across all areas of the curriculum. The teacher supervises children at all times, prepares lesson plans for the director, and ensures classroom equipment and supplies are properly arranged, orderly, and maintained in good condition. The role maintains children’s developmental records and communicates with the director and assistant director about classroom matters. The teacher also communicates with parents about their child’s development and other concerns.

Requirements

• Two years of experience in a licensed daycare.
• Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Strong planning skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and appropriately with children.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records.
• Demonstrated skills in planning, prioritizing, and time management.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete tasks in a timely manner.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must meet all Department of Human Resources training requirements.
• At least 12 clock hours of training in childcare and development through workshops, meetings, videotapes, or one-on-one consultation.
