Daycare Teacher - Infant

About The Position

The Daycare Teacher works in a co-taught infant/toddler classroom serving children from 6 weeks to 3 years old. The teacher designs and implements play-based instruction that fosters children’s growth, learning, and positive self-esteem. This is a full-time position of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, following the daycare calendar.

Requirements

Meet one of the following education and experience pathways: an associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Development, or a related field; a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) and one year of related experience; or 9 college credits in Early Childhood, Child Development, or a related field, a plan of study to obtain a CDA or associate degree, and two years of experience related to caring for children.
Ability to physically assist children in participating in the program.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to perform repetitive movements such as sitting or kneeling on the floor, bending, and stooping.
Ability to move quickly to attend to a running child.

Responsibilities

Co-teach and co-plan under the lead of the Special Education Teacher and in collaboration with other Daycare Teachers, using the assigned curriculum.
Provide high-quality care and instruction through fun, age- and developmentally appropriate activities.
Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment.
Participate in team meetings, share educational insights, and collaborate on problem-solving.
Maintain open communication with families and keep them informed and supported.
Collaborate with the team to use diverse techniques and perspectives in program design.
Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and attendance and prepare reports for parent conferences.
Attend required training sessions and ensure compliance with OCFS regulations and program requirements.
Perform other duties as assigned.
