About The Position

Foundations Early Learning Center is hiring a Daycare Cook at its Winston-Salem, North Carolina location. The cook prepares and distributes meals and snacks for children and staff according to provided menus and applicable USDA, licensing, and health department guidelines. The role also includes maintaining food and supply inventory, following safe food preparation and sanitation practices, keeping the kitchen and pantry safe, and covering classroom breaks when needed. The listed hourly pay range is $16.50–$19, determined by education and years of experience, with increases tied to continued education, performance, and years of service.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to pass background checks and health assessments.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for large-group food service, preferably in a childcare center.
• ServSafe certification.
• EDU 119.
• Previous experience working in licensed childcare.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute meals and snacks for children and staff according to guidelines and provided menus.
• Follow daily menus that incorporate USDA, licensing, and/or health department regulations.
• Use safe food preparation and proper sanitation methods, and maintain a safe kitchen and pantry area.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies.
• Work in the classroom to cover breaks when needed.
