About The Position

The Sunshine House is hiring a Daycare Cook at locations in Irmo and Blythewood, South Carolina. The role prepares and distributes meals and snacks for children and staff according to provided menus and applicable guidelines. The cook follows menus that incorporate USDA, licensing, and health department regulations, uses safe food preparation and sanitation practices, maintains a safe kitchen and pantry, and tracks food and supply inventory. The position also requires working in the classroom to cover breaks. The listed pay range is $14–$16. Candidates with advanced education and early childhood education experience may qualify for higher pay within the range. Requirements

Be at least 18 years old.
Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Have a passion for working with young children.
Be able to pass background checks and health assessments.
Be able to lift up to 30 lbs. for child safety and emergencies.
Be willing to work in the classroom to cover breaks.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience working in licensed childcare.
Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for large-group food service, preferably in a childcare center.
SERV Safe certification.
