Daycare Cook
About The Position
The Sunshine House is hiring a Daycare Cook for its locations in Irmo and Blythewood, South Carolina. The role supports children’s care and development by preparing and distributing meals and snacks for children and staff. The cook follows provided menus and applicable USDA, licensing, and health department guidelines, maintains safe food preparation and sanitation practices, keeps the kitchen and pantry safe, and monitors food and supply inventory. The position also requires willingness to work in the classroom to cover breaks. The stated pay range is $14–$16. Candidates with advanced education and experience in early childhood education may qualify for higher pay within the range. Regular increases are considered based on additional education, performance, and years of service. Requirements
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass background checks and health assessments.
- Be able to lift up to 30 lbs. for child safety and emergencies.
- Be willing to work in the classroom to cover breaks.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working in licensed childcare.
- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for large-group food service, preferably in a childcare center.
- SERV Safe certification.
- Advanced education and experience in early childhood education may qualify candidates for higher pay within the stated range.
Responsibilities
