About The Position

Sweeping Corporation of America (SCA) is hiring a full-time Day Street Sweeper to provide street sweeping and environmental services in West Chester Township, Ohio. The Street Sweeper takes ownership of assigned routes, drives a street sweeper, and operates specialized equipment to keep streets clean and well-maintained. The position works a first shift, pays $22–$23 per hour, and involves minimal travel (1–10%). The role supports public safety and environmental quality by completing route work safely, efficiently, and to expected quality standards. Duties include inspecting equipment, planning and completing routes, handling materials appropriately, documenting work, reporting incidents and equipment problems, communicating professionally, adapting to changing conditions, and maintaining reliable attendance. Work is performed outdoors with regular exposure to weather and traffic, and the employee must use required personal protective equipment. Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 1 year of DOT driving experience.
CDL-B license and DOT Medical Card.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must maintain an acceptable driving record and pass a motor vehicle record check, background check, and drug screening in accordance with company policy and applicable law.
Ability to follow safety procedures, conduct inspections, operate equipment responsibly, and comply with traffic, site, and regulatory requirements.
Ability to plan routes, complete work efficiently and accurately, adapt to changing conditions, and maintain dependable attendance.
Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and teammates, represent the company professionally, and promptly report equipment issues, incidents, and safety concerns.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at varying heights, including overhead.
Ability to use hand and foot controls and perform work requiring fine motor skills.

Responsibilities

Perform required pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections and confirm safety features are operational before starting a route.
Review assigned routes before departure and ask questions when route details or expectations are unclear.
Complete assigned jobs within the allotted timeframe while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
Operate sweeping equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with traffic laws, company safety procedures, and site-specific protocols; use additional caution in inclement weather or challenging conditions.
Handle materials safely and securely, following appropriate procedures for material types and disposal sites.
Report equipment issues, malfunctions, near misses, crashes, and injuries within 30 minutes or as soon as safely possible.
Escalate opportunities, work issues, and safety concerns to management promptly.
Maintain a professional attitude and appearance and communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients as needed.
Accurately complete required logs, manifests, and forms.
Respond appropriately to changes and challenges and identify and resolve issues in a timely manner.
Report to work on time as scheduled, remain prepared throughout assigned shifts, and reliably adhere to start times, breaks, and end times.
