About The Position

The Sanitation Worker is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the division building and related property safely and efficiently. The role helps support US FOODS’ standards and success through reliable, collaborative work and service. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM until finish. The expected base rate is $20.54; compensation may depend on relevant experience or education, skills, function, geographic location, and other factors. Overtime compensation may also be available as applicable.

Requirements

Must be able to read and communicate in English, including holding a conversation, understanding highway traffic signs and signals, responding to official inquiries, and entering information on reports and records.

Nice To Haves

High school education or GED.
Previous custodial and/or sanitation experience.

Responsibilities

Sweep and clean the entire warehouse to maintain the required level of cleanliness.
Empty trash bins and clean the trash area daily; operate the trash compactor when applicable.
Pull pallets and clean or scrub product bays on a rotating basis.
Clean spills or breakages involving inventoried products, recoup damage, and determine whether products can be resold or must be disposed of under government and food safety requirements.
Perform assigned light maintenance, such as replacing light bulbs, collecting recyclable materials, picking up paper and shrink wrap, and checking freezers and coolers for leaks or ice buildup.
Prepare reports and forms documenting cleaning schedules, spills, and product damage; may track and order maintenance supplies.
Clean other warehouse and office areas as needed, including break rooms, restrooms, test kitchens, and offices.
Maintain facility grounds and dumpster areas.
Operate a scrubber, pallet jack, and high lift when required.
