About The Position

The Center for Disability Services is seeking Day Program Supervisors to join its Day Programs, which aim to increase independence for people with disabilities through community inclusion, volunteering, activities, and daily life skills. The supervisor oversees programming for the people supported and supervises assigned staff, while ensuring appropriate program coverage and oversight. The role also serves as a consultant to Team Leaders for the Interdisciplinary Team and may provide direct support, including dining assistance, lifting, and personal care when necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• NYS driver's license in good standing.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Three years of job-related experience, specifically working with people with developmental disabilities or in a related field. A minimum of an associate's degree or two completed years of college may be considered in lieu of one year of job-related experience.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Establish and carry through programming for people supported, and supervise assigned staff.
• Ensure proper program coverage and oversight for people supported.
• Serve as a consultant to Team Leaders for the Interdisciplinary Team.
• Provide full support to people, including dining, lifting, and direct personal care when necessary.
• Interview, hire, evaluate, and provide necessary feedback to assigned staff.
