About The Position

A Day Program Professional (DPP), also described as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to people with mental, intellectual or developmental, and physical disabilities. The role aims to empower people to live as independently and comfortably as possible while preserving their dignity and respect. The position is based in a day program and involves driving.

Requirements

• Experience working with people with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a valid driver's license, as the position involves transporting people served.
• Have computer skills for documentation.
• Have reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team members.
• Be person-centered, patient, and kind.
• Be dependable, adaptable, and flexible.
• Be observant and detail-oriented.
• Be a positive role model and able to work on a team.
• Be committed to creating a respectful and collaborative environment.
• Complete a successful background clearance as part of onboarding and employment.
• Some positions or locations may require a personal vehicle and auto-liability insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Support the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the people served.
• Assist with daily living activities, including mobility, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with internal and external team members.
