About The Position

A Day Program Professional (DPP), also referred to as a Direct Support Professional (DSP), provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual, developmental, and physical disabilities. The role aims to empower individuals to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining dignity and respect. This position is based in a day program and involves driving.

Requirements

• Experience working with people with developmental or intellectual disabilities.
• Be at least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license, as the role involves transporting people served.
• Some positions or locations may require use of a personal vehicle and auto-liability insurance.
• Successful background clearance as part of onboarding and employment.
• Computer skills for documentation.
• Reading, writing, and communication skills to document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with team members.
• Person-centered, patient, and kind.
• Dependable, adaptable, and flexible.
• Observant and detail-oriented.
• Able to serve as a positive role model and work on a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.
• Help ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals served.
• Assist with daily living tasks, including moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, toileting, and personal hygiene.
• Document care, follow support plans, and collaborate with internal and external team members.
