About The Position

Beacon Specialized Living Services is seeking Day Program Professionals to support individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving personal goals through engaging activities, skill building, and community integration. The role implements person-centered service plans that promote independence, social skills, and confidence. Activities may include pre-vocational training, arts, music, and community outings. The position supports participants’ health, safety, dignity, and inclusion during program activities, outings, and transportation. It also includes coaching in daily living skills, assisting with personal care, administering medications after training, maintaining documentation, and using safe crisis prevention and intervention strategies.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
At least 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license.
Ability to pass background checks and required health screenings.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English and complete documentation.
Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting, standing, assisting with transfers, and driving program vehicles.
Compassion, patience, reliability, dependability, and commitment to participant well-being.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in human services is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Lead structured pre-vocational, social, recreational, and community-based activities.
Coach individuals as they build independence in daily living skills.
Ensure participants’ health, safety, and dignity during programs, outings, and transportation.
Support personal care needs and administer medications after training.
Complete documentation and incident reports accurately in electronic systems.
Use safe crisis prevention and intervention strategies.
Promote inclusion and positive community awareness.
Transport participants safely and supervise them in community settings.
