About The Position

Rising Star Resource Development Corporation is hiring a part-time Day Porter Custodian to perform basic custodial services and coordinate cleaning and sanitation in federal and state buildings in Duncanville, Texas. The role works under limited supervision with considerable latitude to use initiative and independent judgment, and may include training others. Background clearance is required. This is an hourly position paying $14.00–$15.00 per hour. It is a first-shift role, with no travel required. There are five openings. The position includes cleaning and inspecting restrooms, offices, and other facilities; maintaining restrooms and replenishing supplies; using cleaning chemicals and floor-maintenance equipment; performing minor custodial-equipment repairs; inspecting buildings for cleanliness, completed work, and needed repairs; and maintaining inventory records for property, equipment, materials, and supplies. A high school diploma or GED is required by the listing; graduation from high school or an equivalent is also described as generally preferred. At least two years of custodial experience is required. Fluent English is required, while Spanish is preferred but not required. Rising Star is a private nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation and social enterprise that employs people with disabilities, individuals facing barriers to employment, and veterans. It provides facility-support and temporary-staffing contract services to government and commercial clients.

Requirements

Background clearance is required.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and perform general custodial work, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning windows, light fixtures, carpet, and tile floors.
Maintain restrooms, replenish supplies, and apply cleaning chemicals as appropriate.
Perform minor maintenance and repair work on custodial equipment.
Clean, dust, and inspect restrooms, offices, and other facilities as needed.
Operate floor-maintenance equipment, including buffers, strippers, upright vacuums, and backpack vacuums.
Inspect buildings for cleanliness, completed work, and needed repairs.
Maintain inventory records for building property, custodial equipment, materials, supplies, and equipment.
Perform related duties as assigned.
May train others.
