About The Position

ServiceFM (SFM) is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Day Porter/Custodian to perform general cleaning and floor care in an educational facility in the Brentwood area. The role helps provide a clean, safe, and healthy environment for students, faculty, and visitors. SFM is a family-owned company serving nonprofit organizations throughout Middle Tennessee since 1998, specializing in custodial, maintenance, and facility management services for private schools, churches, and other mission-driven organizations.

The schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM–6:30 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid meal break. Occasional evening and weekend work is required to support special events throughout the year. Compensation is $18.00 per hour. Full-time employees may access benefits after the applicable eligibility period.

Requirements

• Successfully pass a fingerprint-based criminal background check required for school employment.
• Ability to perform physical work, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing, and pulling.
• Reliable, dependable, and committed to excellent customer service.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic smartphone or computer skills to record work hours accurately.
• Ability to work in a smoke-free, tobacco-free, and drug-free environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and common areas.
• Sweep, vacuum, dust, wet mop, and dry mop floors.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Clean windows, doors, and other interior surfaces.
• Remove debris from building entrances and surrounding grounds.
• Set up and break down tables, chairs, and furniture for school events.
• Perform periodic floor care and carpet maintenance during school breaks.
• Move boxes, furniture, and supplies as part of porter duties, and complete other assigned tasks as needed.
• Follow company safety procedures, cleaning standards, and quality expectations.
