About The Position

ServiceFM (SFM), a family-owned company serving private schools, churches, and other nonprofit organizations throughout Middle Tennessee, is hiring a dependable Day Porter/Custodian for an educational facility in the Brentwood area. The role performs general cleaning, floor care, and porter duties to help maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment for students, faculty, and visitors. The position offers $18.00 per hour and is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, from 10:00 AM to 6:30 PM, including a 30-minute unpaid meal break. Occasional evening and weekend work is required to support special events. SFM describes its workplace as supportive and family-oriented and offers opportunities for advancement and career growth.

Requirements

• Successfully pass the fingerprint-based criminal background check required for school employment.
• Ability to perform physical work, including walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing, and pulling.
• Be reliable and dependable, with a commitment to excellent customer service.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic smartphone or computer skills to record work hours accurately.
• Ability to work in a smoke-free, tobacco-free, and drug-free environment.

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, offices, restrooms, cafeterias, gyms, and common areas.
• Sweep, vacuum, dust, wet mop, and dry mop floors.
• Empty trash receptacles and replace liners.
• Clean windows, doors, and other interior surfaces.
• Remove debris from building entrances and surrounding grounds.
• Set up and break down tables, chairs, and furniture for school events.
• Perform periodic floor care and carpet maintenance during school breaks.
• Move boxes, furniture, and supplies and complete other assigned porter tasks as needed.
• Follow company safety procedures, cleaning standards, and quality expectations.
• Record work hours accurately using basic smartphone or computer skills.
