•$98,000 - $163,100•Hybrid

About The Position

MANTECH is seeking a motivated, customer-oriented Data Quality and Knowledge Manager to join its Enterprise Data, AI, and Automation team in Herndon, Virginia. This hybrid position requires 2–3 days onsite each week. The role establishes, scales, and governs enterprise knowledge systems and data quality standards so that data, documentation, and content used by dashboards, reports, and AI tools—including Ask MANTECH, an internal knowledge chatbot powered by Moveworks—remain accurate, current, and trustworthy. The manager develops data quality and hygiene frameworks, oversees enterprise knowledge systems and documentation repositories, and works with data owners and engineering teams to resolve issues, improve content, and automate quality checks. The position also curates and evaluates sources for retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) tools and uses user feedback to improve the accuracy of AI-generated answers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data quality management or IT knowledge management within an enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience identifying, profiling, and resolving data quality issues in enterprise business systems, including root-cause analysis and coordination of corrections with data owners.
  • Demonstrated expertise managing enterprise knowledge management, including information architecture, knowledge base curation, and content lifecycle management.
  • Strong working knowledge of ITIL guidelines and data governance frameworks, including metadata management and taxonomy design.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of open issues, follow up persistently with stakeholders, and drive items to closure across competing priorities.
  • Strong technical writing, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to build cross-departmental consensus and translate data quality concepts into business impact.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Nice To Haves

  • ITIL v3/v4 Foundation certification.
  • Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or a knowledge management certification, such as KMI Certified Knowledge Manager.
  • Experience implementing AI-driven knowledge tools, enterprise search engines, or RAG tools, including optimizing internal content for search and AI-generated answers.
  • Experience with automated data quality, profiling, or lineage tooling.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement end-to-end data quality and data hygiene frameworks, standard operating procedures, and quality metrics across corporate data domains and Enterprise IT systems.
  • Identify, document, prioritize, and track data quality issues in a centralized issue log; work with functional data owners to correct source-system data and validate its flow through the enterprise data warehouse to downstream dashboards and reports.
  • Conduct regular data quality and content audits, identify root causes of data decay and knowledge silos, and partner with data engineering teams to automate quality checks and documentation workflows.
  • Own the enterprise knowledge management system and documentation repositories; define authoritative sources of truth and ensure content is accurate, searchable, and free of duplication.
  • Establish and maintain a framework assigning a knowledge owner and point of contact to enterprise content by functional area, including procedures for reassigning orphaned or unowned content.
  • Monitor user feedback, diagnose inaccurate or unhelpful answers, coordinate updates, clarifications, or archival with content owners, and advise which repositories should be ingested so each ingested source is actively managed.
  • Evaluate, curate, and maintain knowledge sources for RAG architectures powering AI tools such as Ask MANTECH, using continuous feedback loops to assess response accuracy and refine source-document quality.
