Data Migration Architect -SSA

Perficient•Town and Country, MO
•$160,400 - $208,400•Hybrid

About The Position

Perficient is seeking a Data Migration Architect to join its Data & Analytics group. The role may be based in most major U.S. metro areas near an airport, with a preference for locations near Perficient offices in the East Coast or Midwest. The position is hybrid if and when needed and requires travel of up to 25% as needed. The architect serves as the design authority for migrating data from Oracle ATG to a selected commerce platform. This is a design and judgment role rather than a hands-on build position. The architect owns the source-to-target mapping used by engineers, determines which data should be migrated, federated, or rebuilt, reviews work produced by the team and AI tools, and presents and defends the design to client architects and business stakeholders. The role also defines how correctness will be demonstrated at each regional cutover. The Data & Analytics team supports clients throughout the data lifecycle, including curation, ingestion, management, analytics, and reporting. Its work spans AI, data management, content, and data strategy, among other areas, and includes building modern data platforms and applying machine learning and generative AI.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable ownership of a source-to-target mapping used by an enterprise data migration delivery team.
  • Ability to read Oracle data models, including legacy application schemas and metadata-driven or repository-style structures.
  • Knowledge of SAP ECC data structures for customer, pricing, contract, and order data sufficient to specify extracts and assess what should remain federated.
  • Commerce object modeling experience on Adobe Commerce or Salesforce Commerce, including B2B account hierarchies, catalogs, quotes, carts, and price models.
  • Judgment on federation versus migration and the seniority to defend those decisions with a demanding enterprise client.
  • Experience designing phased, multi-region cutovers, including parallel running, delta synchronization, reconciliation, and rollback.
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support data-informed task execution.
  • Understanding of AI capabilities and limitations, including ethical considerations.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed.
  • Ability to work on a hybrid basis if and when needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AI-enhanced platforms.
  • Oracle ATG experience.
  • Life sciences or regulated-industry experience.
  • Knowledge of GDPR/PIPL data residency.
  • Working familiarity with PL/SQL and dbt.
  • Preferred location on the East Coast or in the Midwest near a Perficient office, including Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Charlotte, Atlanta, or Denver; other airport-near locations may be considered.

  • Create and own the source-to-target mapping used by the delivery team.
  • Determine which data should be migrated, federated, or rebuilt.
  • Review designs and work produced by the team and AI assistance.
  • Defend the migration design to client architects and business stakeholders.
  • Design phased, multi-region cutovers, including parallel running, delta synchronization, reconciliation, and rollback.
  • Define how correctness is proven at each regional cutover.
  • Use AI tools to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and support data-informed task execution.
