Canadian Tire is seeking a motivated Data Engineering Student for a 4-month internship in Fall 2026. This role will focus on building and optimizing data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and supporting analytics initiatives across the organization. Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline
- Familiarity with SQL and one programming language (Python, Java, or Scala).
- Understanding of data modelling and relational databases.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop) is an asset.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes for large-scale datasets.
- Work with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Hadoop) to manage data storage and processing.
- Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure data availability and integrity.
- Implement data validation and monitoring tools to maintain high-quality datasets.
- Document workflows and contribute to best practices for data engineering.
